  • You are pretty happy with your project and ideas and don’t want to engage an architect to deliver your entire project. But it would be nice to get a professional opinion about whether you’re on the right track, wouldn’t it?

    Who can you talk to if you don’t have a friend in the design and construction industry? Actually, sometimes it’s best to keep friends out of it!

    So, when you need direction for a problem, or you aren’t clear what a builder or designer is telling you, or you are (understandably) overwhelmed by all the decisions and you want professional input, then this Architect-On-Call service is for you.

    When you are being asked to make choices, big or small, that you aren’t comfortable with, you finally have someone to consult with.

  • We are impartial, will look at the issue on its merits and ask questions to get to the bottom of things. We’re not lawyers, but we have experience with the design and construction process. We aren’t spec-home companies, but maybe that’s the point! You might need more specific support than they are prepared to give. We aren’t builders, but we’ve worked plenty and have probably heard it all before.

    With our extensive industry knowledge and holistic oversight, we can help you make informed choices, explain your options, refer you to other experts, give you time to slow down and make the most important decisions carefully, and help you through.

    And a reminder - we are not here to take over the job. You’ve got this.

  • If you want to tap into the expertise and knowledge of an architect to guide your project, you can book an hour or a package of 10 consultations.

    Ask us anything, get help with all sorts of problems - including how to resolve conflict with your designer or builder, and make sure your project is on track for success.

    The scope of this service is limitless. You might want help to:

    • Select an exterior material that will conform to local bushfire codes and look great for years without maintenance

    • Work out the best way to protect west-facing windows from getting too hot and heating up your living room in summer

    • Understand another designer’s drawings and, for example, conceptualise how different ceiling heights will make the rooms look and feel when you’re inside them

    • Work out how to resolve an unexpected conflict with your builder (these usually crop up several times over the course of a regular build)

    • Sift through the myriad options for electric cooktops, and work out whether you’ll need three-phase power to install induction

    This is just a small sample of questions we are frequently asked by our clients. And because we’ve answered them before and can see the bigger picture, we can help you navigate through all the “unknown unknowns” of your project.

  • The first 60-min session is $269 +GST. This fee includes preparation by your Architect GP to familiarise themselves with your property and do some essential research prior to the call (or zoom). This makes them better prepared to better answer your questions and give high quality answers.

    THEN

    Follow up sessions are offered at a reduced rate of $229 +GST. Simple.

  • You’re in the right place. You can book a second or third session at the Option A price, or if you want ongoing support over 10 sessions, book Option B - a course of 10 weekly or fortnightly consultations with your Architect - to keep you on track (the discounted price means you get the final session for free).
